Wyckoff is a medium sized town with a small-town feel. The town is mainly affluent and is broken up into 4 sections loosely based on which of the 4-elementary school’s area you live in. Wyckoff has traditionally had a strong school system. The four elementary schools all feed into one common middle school where students stay for three years before deciding which high school they want to go to. There are two public high schools nearby that also pull from neighboring towns Oakland and Franklin Lakes. There are also many private schools nearby, both for girls and for boys, which offers additional options for students.
There are a couple of main shopping centers throughout the town, the main one being Boulder Run which is right next to the Town hall and the recreational fields. The town has a very active recreational sports program that offers a multitude of sports that have been traditionally strong over the years. The Wyckoff Public Library is located within the Town hall complex. And the Wyckoff YMCA provides many programs for everyone to enjoy.
As far as public transportation in town, there are buses that run to many places including New York City which is about 1 hour away by bus and about 45 minutes by car. There are neighboring towns such as Ridgewood and Glen Rock that offer train stops that go to New York City and down south towards Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. Wyckoff is also close to many airports like Teterboro, LaGuardia, and Newark.
Wyckoff has many restaurants around town many of which are very good, such as Aldo’s, The Brick House, Wyckoff Thai, and Sakura to name a few. In addition, Wyckoff is nearby many towns such as Ramsey and Ridgewood both of have extremely nice main streets that offer great shopping and dining options.
The town holds annual events such as Wyckoff Day, fireworks on Labor Day, and Team up to Tidy up.
